Janice Sevre Duszynska ARCWP : March for Peace on Martin Luther King Day

Janice Sevre Duszynska ARCWP with Max and Veterans for Peace

Max, dog friend, Reese, and I marched today in the MLK parade here in Baltimore, as always with our friends in the Veterans for Peace contingent, the Philip Berrigan Memorial Chapter. We dressed warm, it was damp, but there was no wind. Children were aplenty, enjoying the marching bands and dancers. Lots of great drumming. As in previous years, the little ones enjoyed petting Reese the Protest Dog as much as Max relished talking with them. "Show me the peace sign!" I urged the crowds, but especially looking at the children who managed bare fingered, in gloves, or even mittens. So many on the streets responded affirmatively.  Peace was on the lips of the parade watchers. Remembering Dr. King, the people of Baltimore yearn for peace and justice.
